Last weekend I went to 2 big ski openings. The first stop of this trip was Schladming. As we arrived on Thursday (one day before the big opening), the weather changed a little. The wind got stronger and it was really cloudy, including some fresh snow.

This weather change did not affect the slopes or the ski opening atmosphere at the world famous Planai. The slopes were in very good conditions and almost all tracks were already opened. We were skiing almost all day with just a little break for lunch. On Friday, we were part of the big opening on the mountain. We started with a very nice breakfast at our accommodation close to the ski area.

Then, still in the early hours of the day we went skiing until lunchtime. As we knew, Après-Ski starts early, we went for another quick run on the slopes before we started to party.

Enough skiing after two days, it’s time to party! First stop was at Almrausch, we met some funny friends from Vienna, who were already in party mood. Afterwards we went to Schafalm. As you know, I was working at Schafalm last winter season. I met all my colleagues and enjoyed a great Après-Ski Party with the one and only ‚Cäpt’n Klug & die Zwergsteirer‚! These guys know how to celebrate Après-Ski. In between there was also a press conference with Deichkind, Alligatoah and Hannah (Alpenpunk).

After the day on the mountain, Deichkind and Alligatoah played a big concert in the valley, right in front of thousands of people! Great show!

Waking up, after a big day of skiing and Après-Ski, is always fun. We really wanted to stay in Schladming for the rest of the weekend. However, the next ski opening was already calling….Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn…. All the stories of this opening will follow in my next blog post!
